So what did I think?

The idea and entertainment value is exactly as it sounds: a fun fluffy romance with Hakwkins' humor. The characters are enjoyable and and the royal world well executed. After reading six other books by her, it did not let me down and for anyone thinking of picking it up: do!

Book Cover pt1: Likes

Book cover likes and dislikes

I think we all have those things we find really off-putting on covers, and things that draw us in so here are my top picks:

Best ones I know/have read:

Confess: this is a cover I really like and it's a prime example of all the elements I like: the title is bigger than the authors name, it's simplistic yet draws your attention and only when you look at the details do you see everything (unfortunately the details in this one is a hidden face)

Everything, Everything: a similar story, when it comes to the cover, but a bit more busy. Same goes for Nicola Yoon's second book: The Sun is Also a Star. I especially love how the author's name look on the cover.

Stephanie Perkins: now these books I've talked about before and how aesthetically pleasing they are to me. The colors, the contrast and the message of the book is clear.

So as usual, I'll tell 3.5 things I liked about the book and 1.5 things I didn't like.

So what did I think?

+1 | The idea is so intriguing - just like what drew me to the first book. I've stated it so many times, and will again: fairytales, I love them.

+1 | The characters were so well thought out, especially with their weaknesses.

+/-0.5 | The pace was perfectly timed and the action gripping, but some of the romances felt rushed.

+/-0.5 | The world and its building was great, yet some bits were left unexplained.

+/-0.5  | The writing was so detailed and beautiful, though it did skip some interesting parts.

Overall a strong ending to this duology, and I do recommend it to those who enjoyed the first one - or if you're just starting.

Herding Cats : review

Her previous two Sarah's Scribbles have won the Goodreads Choice Awards for 2016 and 2017, so you know this'll be great!
Sarah valiantly struggles with waking up in the morning, being productive, and dealing with social situations. Sarah's Scribbles is the comic strip that follows her life, finding humor in living as an adulting introvert that is at times weird, awkward, and embarrassing.

So as usual, I'll tell 4.5 things I liked about the book and .5 thing I didn't like.

So what did I think?

+2 | Entertainment value. As usual Sarah captures bits of life that we can all relate to and forms it into such clever and hilarious comic book scenes

+1 | Drawings. The style used matches the tone perfectly and captures the words perfectly

+1 | Not just humor. This particular Sarah's Scribbles had a section for advice for artists. Though I'm not one, I could relate and I loved how it was incorporated into the story

+/-0.5  | More. I just simply want more.
