20 bookish facts about me

I just graduated, and I find that people ask me all the same things over and over: plans, thoughts, feelings and mostly the normal questions for catching up with people.

So I decided to do a list of bookish facts about me, since I didn't have written anything for this weekend.


  1.  Sometimes I just don't feel like reading, and not always because of a book hangover
  2. I can read fast, or slow - all depending on my mood and how much I like the book
  3. LOVE cataloging data on books on both my Goodreads and in an Excel spreadsheet
  4. Totally judge books by their covers...
  5. Love reading the dedications
  6. Underline and tab books (post it the sides)
  7. ...but I DON'T dog ear or write in them
  8. Feeling of reading a book for the first time? I wouldn't be that interested in it. I love that I get something new from it everytime- I feel like I never read the same book
  9. Prefer paperbacks - and floppy ones at that
  10. Used to never DNF books, but I've come to realize it's not worth waisting your time in the
  11. Can't drink or eat while reading
  12. Don't buy books on a whim
  13. Reading at any time of day
  14. I am totally fine with lending books
  15. I don't really read books in my first language
  16. I feel like I always fall for the character that dies, in both movies and books
  17. I own one signed book
  18. I am a mood reader and it can take me days to find the book to read
  19. It bothers me when the authors name is bigger than the books name on the cover
  20. I push off reading last books in series... to the point where I don't remember anything from the books anymore

3. What distracts you usually when your reading?
N* 1 Youtube...

4. What would cause you to stop reading a book half-way through? Do you ever skim them?
In the past I couldn't not finish a book, but I've learnt to not force it - there's not enough time to continue one that isn't for you
>Also if I'm in a book slump because of a certain book I start listening to audiobooks!

5. Do you have an e-reader?
I use kindle on my iPad

6. Prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once?
Usually one at a time, but at times I have another book like a short story collection if the "main" book I'm reading is a classic or tough to get through.

7. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?
Maybe regarding deadlines I've started to rhythm my reading.

8. How often do you read out of your comfort zone?
Not too often, but I've started branching out at least reading a book once a month that I wouldn't normally pick up.

9. Do you like to keep your books organized?
YES! I also love re-arraning my bookshelves. Goodreads is my go to app when cataloguing books, but I also have an excel so I can get all kinds of statistics

10. Can you read on the bus?
Yes, but usually I rather listen to music

11. Favourite place to read?
On my bed or a couch

12. Policy on book lending?
I'm defenitely for lending books

13. Do you dog-ear books? Write in the margins? Not even with text books?
I don't dog-ear them or write text in them, but I do underline and highlight things in all books

14. Favourite language to read in?
English, but I also read some in Finnish

15. What makes you love a book?
I just wrote a post about this and it should be out next week

16. What will inspire you to recommend a book?
All the books that I recommend are either ones I love of think a person in particular will enjoy

17. Genre you rarely read, but wish you did?
Non-fiction, especially biographies and ones that don't have huomour balancing it out

18. Favourite book in that^ genre?
Roald Dahl's Going Solo, Cheaper by the Dozen, We Should Hang Out Sometime and Hyperbole and a Half

19. Favourite reading snack and drink?
I tend to not be able to drink or eat whilst reading, so maybe water

20. Favourite / most disappointing adaption of a novel?
The Maze Runner is the one movie that I liked better than the book,
from book I like I really loved the Lizzy Bennet Diaries and Howl's Moving Castle

21. Feelings about giving bad/negative reviews?
In the start I hated it and tended to just not write reviews on them, but on the other hand I quite like reading negative reviews so I've started writing more about them.

22. Most intimidating book you've ever read? Most intimidating book you're too nervous to begin?
I usually get most intimidated by books that are either really long, or non-fiction without huomour to balance it out for me

23. How many books do you usually have checked out of the library at any given time?
Usually around three, and at least one pretty much at all times

24. What books do you have on request at the library?
Gemina, Crooked Kingdom & A Torch Against the Night

25. Do you prefer to keep books or give them away once you've read them?
Yes and no. I buy books that I'm quite sure I'll enjoy. When I don't I usually get rid of it, but that doesn't happen often. I prefer to read from the library and then buy the book if I loved it.

For favourites/least favourites, genres and other statistics of the year, I'll be doing a wrap up at the end of the month.

Finland

I uh, huh I don't know. I used to sing in a choir.

I was a volunteer, for a day, at a camp for disabled children and we had some great fun (ex. a good old big paint fight)

Evening, I guess? During weekends maybe morning though...

Brazil, Ethiopia and Japan, and Paris... and Venice. See they aren't countries so that's fine, right?
>6. How do you organize your books?
Alphabetically (by languages and classics seperately) and my TBR books are in order in which I bought them.

Problem-solving

I'll go with the quotes I like, which I listed and just made a post of. So you'll find it on my blog.
>9. Suggest a good book for someone only staring to read
Depending. I think I made a post about that.

>10. How did you find the book you are currently reading?
Did you mean as in from where did I hear about it or where did I buy it from?
I am currently reading Assassin's Curse. I bought it from London, on a class trip. I usually discover books on "BookTube" or Goodreads.

Almost everyone in my family LoVes reading, so from them I guess.

classics read: 40ish, depending on what one thinks is a classic
red books: around 11?

Q for an A?


You all know that you can mail me or ask me something on Tumblr, like you guys do, but know that it can be anything from silly to serious :)

I normally answer straight to you but I decided to gather the ones I get and make a post answering since some ask the same questions (: not that that's bad.

I will be doing the post on May 23rd (so in three weeks) and that will be my last post before summer! And during this coming one I won't be doing any posts! But I will be Tumbling so you can reach me there.

All about you?

So questions that you have sent are the following. I added some that are more common too. I will be doing more of these so continue sending them. (:

1What country do you live in?
I live in a beautiful country named Finland (In Europe). It's cold here but I like it.
2Hobbies?
I play the piano. Christmas -13 I got to 10 years of playing.
3. What would your perfect first date be?
Um, thats a hard one. I would like it to be very casual but memorable... Maybe not going to the movies since I'd like to talk. And yeah :) maybe getting some coffee
4. How many countries have you been to?
I think it was 19? +Scotland if that would count...
5. What's the worst grade you've gotten on a test?
(Here we have the numbers from 4-10 if you didn't know. with 4, 4+, 4 1/2, 5- and then again with a 5...)
For a test a 7- but the worst grade over all was a sewdish quiz with a 4+
6. Favorite TV show when you were a kid?

When I was living in China when I was small we loved Totally Spies with my sister, but after that it was Power Rangers :) YeP I know right!
7.  Would you rather have an american or brittish accent?
I have neither really... But I guess American actually
8.  Nicknames?
Sally is the only one in english... And AngelFox
9.  Can you whistle?
Um if you count blowing out air and the noise that makes.... But nope, only at times :)
10.  Tea (fav. flavour) or coffee?
Green tea but mostly coffee for me
