Emerald Green : review

by: Kerstin Gier

I finally got this book in the mail, and read it! I know it's been out for some time, and you might be suprised I only got it now since I love the series. I just love it so much i didn't want it to end. Since this is indeed the last book I felt like I didn't want to read it just yet. But I did and it was so good.

One thing I love about this series is the idea of it. Now if you don't know about it you might not want to read this since I'll be talking about the third and last book.

Also the balance between romance and action is done well for this type of book, of being both not mainly one or the other.
The main character is someone I really like but I don't love Gideon. I didn't mind him and I did like him but I could have loved him more I guess. That is the only negative thing I have to say about this book, and I know multiple people love him so I'm sure anyone interested will love these books.

I was pleasantly suprised how this series was concluded since I was afraid it would leave of still partly open. I also loved the ending thing where the thing about you know B :) I found that to be a lovely thing since that person was one of my favorites! Humble and helpful.

Little Women : review

by: Louisa May Alcott

1934As my classic for July I read Little Women since a dear friend loves it and I had yet to read it. She, the friend of mine, has had this book as her favorite classic for ages and it was time I read it.

What Goodreads says:
In picturesque nineteenth-century New England, tomboyish Jo, beautiful Meg, fragile Beth, and romantic Amy come of age while their father is off to war.

First of all I shall say I adored this book. Though it had multiple characters, get to them in a bit, I seemed to remember how each was progressing which, for me, was quite new. So the characters, I can just simply say I liked others and not some. Then again that was my biggest minus I'll give this book and that is just my opinion. Another minus would have been how these people didn't progress in thoughts only actions. But I won't say that's a min us since it tied into the book quite nicely. You might understand better if you had read it.

I will keep this one shorter, but first I shall end it in a better tone. I want to thank you all, my dear readers I have gotten messages from you guys and they really make my day :) I really appreciate that.
Also keep the suggestions coming.

Sally

The Host: Book vs. Movie

Book vs. Movie (Pt. 5)
1656001
I'm sure most of you have heard of this Stephenie Meyer book. I read it on a long train ride to and from. I still hadn't come to read it in the years it has been out. I guess it was for my dislike for aliens in books. I don't know why I do dislike them but after a friend suggested me reading this book next I decided to take a try. Why not really. So I read it. And I liked it.
I'll keep this part, of the books pros and cons, short:
+ The pace of things kept me reading
- The confusion about one person being two and having someone to love for both...

After I finished this book I went ahead and watched the movie. I must say I might have liked it even a bit more. Though I did like it more because of the fact that it was less confusing. Then again if I had seen it before reading it I would have thought the other way.

The movie changed a lot of the things the book had. Some parts I really liked and they cut them out, but other scenes the movie had which I liked and the book didn't have.

One thing I also must ask, how is she going to continue on with he series? It came out a long time ago and I think it ended in a good way. Can't some books just be left as a only one. I sometimes find that many series could be cut and ended earlier. Like the  Mortal Instruments could have stayed as a trilogy and i would have liked that. So with this I am a bit skeptical. Maybe I am being too harsh but many trilogies could be stand-alones. There are ofcourse those that have been good series and I am happy that they continued but I really like stand-alones too.

Alice in Zombieland : review

11300302by: Gena Showalter

The white rabbit chronicles is a very separate story from the Alice in Wonderland which it is retelling. It has a lot of twists and is slightly like the other in various little ways. Like the chapter names and the fact that she does get lost into another world, well kinda, and there is some rabbity followings of sorts. And I have to say beautiful cover!

Goodreads's thing-ma-jic:
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right. The monsters are real….

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….

I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently.
I'd tell my sister no.
I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad.
I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words.
Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time.
I'd tell them I love them.
I wish... Yeah, I wish.

I saw the book in the library and hadn't heard anything about it. The thing that cought my eye was the fact that it's a fairytale retelling! I LoVe them! So I read it and I did like the book overall. The text flowed and from the very beginning there was no slowing down. I read it in a day and I had a blast!
But it did have its faults as most do. Some scenes were irrelevant to the plot and in my opinion could have been erased. I also disliked the fact of her being appealed to the tough guys because of their appearances...

Read This Month

September

Unfortunately for my reading I am in High School, so I had my test weeks during this month. That's my explanation for my lack of reading, too much...
I hope I can achieve my goal of 100 books this year though! I am right on track (76/100 and 76/75 for the calculations at the end of September). Though there will be another grouping of tests before Christmas holidays and I will be behind on the 100 but I'm hoping during Christmas, before New Years eve, I will be cought up again :) That's the plan atleast...

1. Gardens of Water 1/2
2. Ruby Redfort
3. Mind Games
4. Perfect Lies
5. Amy and Roger's Epic Detour (TBR)
6. The Giver (CotM)
7. Nobody

Terrible Covers

1. Survive
2.The Naturals
3. The Pretty Little Liars
4. Delirium
5. Iron King

As you can see from these five covers I am not a fan of people on covers. I am not saying I don't like any cover with a face on it, but I do prefer ones without.
